Being a part of the Southridge chapter of the Ashwin Teens Financial Academy (ATFA) program was a significant and transformative experience in my life. One particular unit stands out in my memory as the most impactful—the credit unit. In October 2022, shortly after acquiring my first credit card, I realized the importance of understanding credit and its implications for my financial journey.
Through ATFA, I gained valuable knowledge about credit and its long-term effects. I learned that credit history stays with you throughout your life, emphasizing the need to handle it responsibly. The unit stressed the importance of fulfilling financial obligations and making informed decisions. It became clear to me that while credit can be easily damaged, it can also be built up through smart choices and discipline.
Thanks to the lessons learned in ATFA, I was able to establish and maintain a good credit score. At my age, I’m proud to have a credit score of 714, a testament to the program’s effectiveness. I attribute much of my success to the classes and resources provided by ATFA, which equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the complex world of credit.
Looking back, I am immensely grateful for the positive impact ATFA had on my financial journey. It’s astonishing to think that a program I participated in could have such a profound influence on my life. I eagerly anticipate the future and the possibilities that lie ahead, knowing that ATFA has laid a strong foundation for my financial endeavors.
